Postmortem

Regarding availabilty during this maintance window, the workload on our canary cluster, with a non high available control-plane, experienced five sessions of 50 seconds downtime on the Kubernetes API endpoint, as was expected. During this time, scheduling of changes within a cluster is postponed. On the same canary cluster the workload did not experience any downtime.

We are performing a scheduled maintenance on Monday 6 October, 2025 to upgrade Enterprise Managed Kubernetes.

## Improvements

We will complete outstanding upgrades our Managed Kubernetes substack which could not be completed in the previous maintenance window. Support for Kubernetes v1.33. Finally, lots of bug fixes and performance improvements.


## Impact

Our engineers make every effort to minimize system impact. Starting at 10:00, the following impact can be expected. The EMK API endpoint may not be able to process your request. The kube-apiserver endpoint of your cluster may not be able to process your request. EMK clusters will not be able to autoscale during maintenance. While it’s important to be aware of the start and end times of the maintenance window we are confident to complete these changes with minimal impact.


## User Action

Please refrain from making changes to your EMK resources during the given start and end times. EMK clusters will not be able to autoscale during maintenance, if you anticipate an increase in workload please pre-scale your cluster accordingly.
